A Florida woman has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing shots at the Beverly Hills‑area home of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, where the couple, their three children, and Rihanna’s mother were present at the time, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, age 35, of Orlando, faces 14 felony counts, including attempting to kill the singer, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. No injuries were reported.
Authorities say Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were inside a trailer on the property during the incident that Sunday afternoon, while other relatives and staff were inside the home. Rihanna, a nine‑time Grammy winner and founder of Fenty Beauty, welcomed her third child with A$AP Rocky in September.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman praised police for arresting Ortiz shortly after the shooting in the nearby community of Sherman Oaks.
Ortiz appeared in court wearing blue jail clothing, where her attorney initially entered a not‑guilty plea before postponing arraignment until March 25. She is being held on US$1.8 million bail. A protective order now bars her from contacting Rihanna, whose legal name is Robyn Fenty, or A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers.
If convicted on all counts, Ortiz could face life in prison. Prosecutors say the assault charges cover Rihanna’s family members, two staffers, and two people in a neighbouring home.
The motive remains under investigation. Public records list Ortiz as a licensed speech pathologist who most recently lived in Orlando.
